Grand adventure to Disneyland

Yesterday, I went to Disneyland with a few friends. I have not been to this theme park in several years. I took like 300 photos of the attractions, dining areas, carts filled churros, popcorn, frozen treats, soft drinks and water, and illuminated Minnie Mouse hats and wands. I was so amazed by the atmosphere and the intense attraction when people wafted over to certain attractions. It was packed everywhere I could look. Fast passes were supplied only to so many people.

For the attractions I did manage to get on were: Splash Mountain, Star Tours, Buzz Light-year Astro Blasters, and then for a short time, I was in the Tomorrowland Theaters to watch “Star Wars: Path of the Jedi.” For lunch, I went to the Galactic Grill and ordered a Cheese 3PO Burger that came with fries, and ordered a Dasani water bottle to drink. I also got the chance to see a stormtrooper walk by, a Jedi battle, and the Sleeping Beauty Castle where many pictures were indeed taken.

The weather at Disneyland was rather cold and the lines just to get onto a ride was rather packed and full. But I didn’t mind when I got back on Main Street to see the sweets and candy stores.

I went into the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor for two scoops of ice cream; flavors: Chocolate and Cookie Dough. I also entered the Candy Palace to buy sweet treats and absorbed plenty of sugar and pure energy inside. I bought a dark chocolate peppermint patty and a snowflake mickey mouse shaped rice crispie treat.

After spending some money for sweets, I walked back to the area near city hall and stood by to watch the parade. It was brightly lit up and several characters were visible; Belle, Elsa and Anna, Olaf, Ariel, Woody, and much more.

I really enjoyed myself and I had a brilliant time at Disneyland! I was able to enjoy the 60th anniversary and the Christmas decorations were still up. I also want to say I had the best time and I hope you enjoy the last few days of 2015 because I do and I cannot wait to see what 2016 year has in store for me!

Oh and you bet, I want to go back to Disneyland!

Yesterday around 2am, I went outside my house in search of the rare full moon. It was shining brightly plus it was Christmas.

It was freezing outside and I’ve never actually waited in the morning for a full moon. I’m glad I got to see the rare full moon.

Friday morning’s full moon was the first on Christmas since 1977. And you won’t have to wait as long for the next full moon yule — 19 years from now in the year 2034.

pancake mishaps 2.0

So for dinner, I wanted to make pancakes from scratch and not from the box of Bisquick. I put together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. I then mixed together two eggs, milk, and vanilla in another bowl.

Once blended together both dry and wet ingredients, and the batch was rather mixed, I was ready to make pancakes. I decided to add in semi-sweet Nestle Tollhouse chocolate chips into the batter to make the pancakes a tad sweeter. I made a total of eight pancakes.

Turns out I still need practice on making the pancakes rounder and not looking too oval. But it did taste really great but I think I still prefer the mix coming from inside a box. 😛

hot food + winter air

Yesterday, I made Chicken a la King stew dish for dinner. My uncle brought it over but I am sharing the four pics left and right of the collage of the process of making it. The middle pic of course is the plate of Japanese white rice topped with Chicken a la King and a piece of crusty Costco bread.

I think it’s a good dish to have it on cold windy days like this week. Recipe below:

Chicken a la King

Ingredients:

1 green bell pepper
8 ounces of white mushrooms
½ cup flour
salt/pepper
2 cups of milk
1 cup of chicken stock
1 stick of butter
1 jar of pimentos
Peas
Chicken

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter first.
  2. Sauté diced vegetables.
  3. After 5 minutes, add salt/pepper.
  4. Throw in flour, mix it in.
  5. Drop in 2 cups of milk, and 1 can of chicken stock.
  6. Bring to a boil.
  7. Add as much chicken, peas & pimentos as you want.
  8. Bring to a boil, and then back to medium for a few minutes.

All done!
